Man guns down nephew over land dispute

Accused Zaman wanted to grab the land but all his efforts failed

A man gunned down his nephew over a land dispute in Kasur, Express News reported on Tuesday.

Kangan Pur police station official said that Mudassir Dogar, a resident of Moza Lundianwala, had a dispute over the possession of a land with his uncle Zaman Dogar.

He added that both men used to have arguments over the matter. He revealed that Zaman wanted to grab the land from the victim but all his efforts failed.

On the day of the incident, he mentioned, accused Zaman came to Mudassir’s house and had a heated debate over the issue. The official said when the arguments escalated Zaman allegedly took out a pistol and opened fire on his nephew. As a result, he was killed on the spot.


After the murder, the accused escaped from the scene. Later, the police reached the spot and shifted the body to Civil Hospital for completing legal formalities. The police have booked the suspect and started investigations.

In a similar incident a few days back, a man stabbed his wife and her nephew over domestic dispute in Bahawalpur.

The police said Noreen Bibi, a resident of Basti Bandra, married Muhammad Javed some 14 years ago and the couple had five children.

For the past one year, Javed used to fight with Noreen over certain suspicions.

On the day of the incident, the couple had a heated debate. When matters arguments escalated, Javed took out a knife and stabbed Noreen Bibi with the intention to kill her. In the meantime, other family members and the woman’s nephew Muhammad Rehan reached the spot to save her.

During the chaos, the culprit also stabbed Rehan and escaped from the scene. As a result, both the victims suffered critical stab wounds.
