More than 50 militants attacked a police checkpost in Sarband, 10km outside Peshawar late on Friday.

They targeted the Riaz Shaheed Checkpost at around 11:20pm, opening indiscriminate gunfire on personnel as well as firing three rockets at the post.

According to Express Tribune reporter Umar Farooq, the police had driven away the militants after a fiery gun-battle. The militants, as per their usual modus operandi, had escaped into the night.

No casualties were reported according to local sources.

Reinforcement had arrived at the post while the police cordoned off the area.

Sources say the check-post is repeatedly attacked, making it one of the most hostile posts in the area.

Everything IS a conspiracy against Pakistan. You MUST be right Andrea. * If you don't get the sarcasm and actually believe the above is true, I feel very sorry for you *
Andrea | 12 years ago | Reply @Thinking: But you forget that many of these criminals are on the payroll of enemy agencies to harm innocent civilians. We all know that RAW is working with their lackeys in Afghanistan to create problems in Pakistan.
