KHANPUR:
A woman, whose body was found from a canal a few months ago, was allegedly murdered by her sister, revealed Khanpur police. The police have taken a suspect into custody for his involvement in the crime.

A police official told Express News that on September 17, 2018, the body of a woman was recovered from Shireen Canal in Moza Moosa Kanju area. He added that the victim was identified as Bushra Bibi, a resident of Rahim Yar Khan.

He maintained that the police investigated the case and it emerged that the woman did not commit suicide, but was murdered.

He pointed out that the investigating team took a suspect named Rashid into custody for interrogation. The official mentioned the suspect was the driver of the victim’s sister Ambreen Bibi.


Woman tortured, poisoned to death by in-laws

During interrogation, Rashid disclosed that Ambreen was working as a principal at a private school. He said Bushra Bibi was mentally-challanged and her family members were facing problems due to her unstable condition.

The culprit revealed that in a bid to get rid of the woman, Ambreen and her husband Ali Imran decided to murder her.

Rashid highlighted that on the day of the incident, he along with Ambreen and Ali took the victim to Head Talley Wala in a vehicle where they strangled her to death. After murdering her, they threw her body in the canal and fled the scene.

The police said that a case had been registered against the suspects, while efforts were being made to nab the other culprits.
