Safdar wanted to marry his son to Kulsoom, but her father refused the proposa

A man allegedly axed his niece to death over a marriage dispute in Burewala, Express News reported on Monday.

A police official said that Muhammad Safdar, a resident of Fazal Wah area, wanted to marry his son to his 18-year-old niece Kulsoom.

He added that when Safdar sent the marriage proposal to the girl’s father, he rejected his request. Later, Kulsoom tied-the-knot with another man, he maintained.

He mentioned that when the accused knew of the marriage, he got enraged and decided to take ‘revenge’.


The official revealed that on the day of the incident, the suspect barged into Kulsoom’s house and axed her to death. The accused managed to escape from the scene. The police shifted the body to District Headquarter Hospital for legal formalities.

Meanwhile, Laddan police have registered a case against the culprit and started investigations.

Earlier, a man was axed to death for abducting a girl in Okara.

Reportedly, Muhammad Shareef, a resident of Chak No 4/7, and his brothers Muhammad Mushtaq and Muhammad Mansha, were passing through the area when Ashiq, Nadeem, Ramzan and others intercepted them.

The culprits caught Shareef and allegedly axed him to death. The police said that Muhammad Shareef’s son had abducted a girl in the area. Later, the matter was resolved on the orders of a panchayat and the girl was returned.

The girl’s family members were enraged over the issue and decided to take revenge.
