Govt ready to amend NAB laws: PM’s aide

Govt working to strengthen national institutions, says Nadeem Afzal Chan

ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Parliamentary Coordination Nadeem Afzal Chan has said the present government was ready to amend the National Accountability Bureau law to make it more effective against the menace of corruption.

He said it was a dire need to bring reforms in our judicial and prosecution systems to deal efficiently with the cases of corruption, particularly white-collar crimes.

“Apparently, it seems a bit difficult to collect evidences against white-collar crimes and country’s prosecution system is not so effective in handling such cases,” he said while talking to a private news channel.

He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was working to strengthen national institutions by bringing reforms in their policies and working structure.

To a question, he said there was no compromise on the corruption and the government would pursue all cases of corruption till their logical ends.
