Govt Girls College City Gulbahar clinched the overall trophy of the first Shama Inter-College Sports Gala held at its home ground on Friday.
Besides fun-filled events of tug-of-war, musical chair and sack race, teams from eight colleges took part in basketball, table tennis and netball. The sports gala also saw young women showing their prowess in cooking competition and mehndi competition.
City Gulbahar won table tennis title, followed by Govt Higher Secondary School Lady Griffith and Govt Girls College Bacha Khan.
In netball, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University stood first after defeating Govt Girls College Bacha Khan while Govt City Gulbahar took third position.
In basketball Govt City Girls College Gulbahar won the trophy, followed by Govt Girls College Bacha and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University.
Govt Girls College Bacha Khan Principal Humaira Khan was the chief guest on this occasion at the closing and prize distribution ceremony with Professor Sharif Gul, Principal Govt College Peshawar was the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the two-day Annual Sports Gala.
