Cold spell to hit Karachi again

Rains expected in many cities of Punjab within the next 48 hours

LAHORE/ KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday predicted that weather will turn crazy in Karachi with sudden dip in temperature during morning and evening hours and unexpected surge in afternoon on Tuesday and Wednesday.

As per the weather forecast, it will be cold and windy, with all chances to develop gusty, blowing at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometre per hour.

It will be a breezy on Tuesday with temperature to range between 16 to 27°C, an announcement of meteorological department said.

In Punjab, the Met office forecast mainly cold and dry weather including in the provincial capital during the next 24 hours.

Heavy rain, snowfall expected in different parts of the country

Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts in Punjab including Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir.

However, rain thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B).

Weather in Punjab remained cold and dry during last 24 hours. According to synoptic situation, a fresh westerly wave is approaching to western/south western parts of the country and likely to grip upper parts during next 24 to 48 hours.

Experts have predicted rains within next 48 hours in Punjab including in the provincial capital, which would persist during the next few days.

Farmers have been advised to take adoptive measure and schedule the irrigation plans.
