QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has declared that the government has formulated policies to provide assistance and facilitation to the international companies seeking to invest in the province.
During a meeting German Ambassador Martin Kobler here on Wednesday, the chief minister briefed the envoy about the stringent steps taken by the government for improvement in law and order and development in the province.
“Positive results are emerging due to better policies of the provincial government, while border fencing with Afghanistan would prevent terrorists’ movement from across the border,” Kamal stated.

Balochistan Home Minister Mir Zia Langove, Public Health Minister Noor Muhammad Dummar, lawmakers Bushra Rind, Danesh Kumar and Asghar Khan Achakzai, as well as government officials, were also present in the meeting.
Discussing the interest shown by foreign investors in Balochistan, Kamal said the Saudis and Emiratis were willing to become shareholders in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and all the countries seeking to invest in the joint economic venture were welcome.
“Balochistan needs commercial activities to boost its economy and the reforms in the province have helped improve governance.”
The chief minister said, “the government of Balochistan will hold an international investment conference in Gwadar and organise roadshows in friendly countries.”
Kamal said Prime Minister Imran Khan had pledged an overhaul of Balochistan’s infrastructure.
CM credits security forces, people for return of peace
The chief minister sought Germany’s support in establishing technical training institutes in Balochistan.
The envoy assured the CM that he would share the investment plans with German entrepreneurs and vowed to extend support in setting up technical training institutes and taking measures for environmental protection.
Meanwhile, the chief minister wrote a letter to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani, expressing his willingness to host a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match in Quetta.
He said the people of the province took keen interest in cricket.
“People of Balochistan have deep interest in sports, particularly in cricket. They have been deprived of international matches for years.”
He said the people of Balochistan wanted international cricketers playing in Quetta.
Pledging the provincial government’s full support, Kamal stressed that a match of PSL could be played in Quetta as the law and order situation was conducive for sports activities.
“For the sake of sports and entertainment, we request the Pakistan Cricket Board to allow Balochistan to host one PSL match in Quetta,” he said.
