CM credits security forces, people for return of peace

Kamal says there is no shortage of talent in province

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan has said peace in the province has been restored due to great sacrifices rendered by the security forces and the local people.

Addressing the Excellence Award ceremony on Wednesday, the CM said “today we are breathing in a free atmosphere” and people from every walk of life have contributed their share in this long struggle.

The event was organised at Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences in Quetta.
Starting in 2016, Excellence Awards event is organised every year to recognise the people who have shown excellent performance in various fields. More than 50 people were awarded during the ceremony.

“A good tradition,” the CM said and lauded the organisers for holding the ceremony and paid tributes to the guests who came from other parts of the country.

He highlighted that Balochistan’s people, despite backwardness and the lack of resources, are earning a good name for the province and the country. “There is no shortage of talent in the province”.

Kamal pledged his government’s full support to the people who showcase their competence in various fields.

Later, CM Kamal distributed the Excellence Award to the people who demonstrated high-performance in various sectors.

National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, Commandant Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa, Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar, provincial ministers, members of provincial assembly and many others were present on the occasion.

Meanwhile in a statement, the chief minister condemned the murder of former member national assembly from Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Ali Raza Abidi. Ali Raza was gunned down near his residence the previous night in Karachi. The chief minister expressed profound grief over the death.

He said that the services of Abidi would be remembered. He also prayed to the almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss.
