The Lahore High Court chief justice on Thursday directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) chairman to explain why one of the two national identity cards issued to the petitioner had not been cancelled.
The court was hearing a petition from Shahbaz Ahmad of Mozang that NADRA authorities be charged with contempt for not heeding court orders. On March 25, the chief justice had instructed NADRA to address within 30 days his grievance that he had been issued two ID cards and one should be cancelled. The court issued notice to the chairman to respond in two weeks.
