Man involved in kidnapping of young school girls in Jhang arrested
Police say Ali had also involved in abduction of pupils in the past
Punjab police arrested a man on Tuesday for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of young school girls.
DSP Hashim Gujar said Muhammad Ali, the accused, had been arrested from the neighbourhood of Jhang district.
On Monday, the accused abducted a girl of first grade from outside the school and kept her in rented house, according to police officials.
He also demanded Rs2.5 million from the parents of the pupil against her release, they added.
The accused was arrested with the help of CCTV footage which led to the release of girl.
It has been revealed during the investigation that the accused had remained involved in the abduction of school girls in the past.
The FIR against Ali had been lodged and officials had initiated inquiry into the matter.
Five-year-old girl escapes rape attempt in Faisalabad
On January 28, a 15-year-old girl who was on a school trip in Murree was allegedly kidnapped by her neighbour’s son.
Ghazala, the girl’s mother, lodged a complaint with police, in which she said she had sent her daughter on a school trip where the school’s principal, Muhammad Ali, served as a chaperone.
She said that Ali called her to inform her of the 15-year-old’s disappearance.
Ghazala shared that one of the classmates of her daughter received a call from a man identified as Hamza, their neighbour, saying that she is safe and there is no reason to worry.
She said that Hamza’s family has been hurling threats at her when they ask where their daughter is, adding that Hamza’s family has disowned him.
The victim’s family claim that Hamza abducted their daughter with the help of the school’s principal.
