Clerk at AGP’s office commits suicide on SHC premises
The deceased reportedly jumped off the seventh floor of the New Annexe Building at SHC

A clerk at the office of Attorney-General of Pakistan (AGP) reportedly committed suicide on Monday by jumping off the seventh floor of the New Annexe Building in the Sindh High Court's (SHC) premises.
The deceased, aged 51, was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. A resident of Liaquatabad, FC area, he left behind a son and two daughters.
The incident took place in the limits of Preedy Police Station. Speaking to The Express Tribune, Preedy SHO Inspector Liaquat Hayat said that the cause of suicide has not been ascertained as yet. The SHO said that before committing suicide he had called his son and handed over his watch, mobile phone and motorcycle keys to his son.

Shoes of the deceased were found on the roof of the Annexe building and traces of his feet could also be seen, said the SHO. According to Hayat, the offices in the Annexe building are functional till the fourth floor and those floors have CCTV cameras installed while the fifth floor and above are under construction.
The SHO said that the police have asked SHC administration for CCTV footage and the incident is being investigated through various angles. After legal formalities, the police handed over the body of the deceased to his family.
AGP Anwar Mansoor Khan expressed his grief over the incident while talking to the media. He said that the matter was being investigated thoroughly.
The AGP said that the deceased had spent 27 years in service.
He said the deceased was honest and dutiful and no one at the office had any ill feelings towards him. The deceased was respectful and kind, said the AGP.
