Real representatives bring change: Fazlur Rehman
JUI-F says welfare state not possible without interest-free economy
RAWALPINDI:
President of Muttahida Majlise Amal (MMA) and chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the country needs true public representatives in order to arrive at real change.
Addressing a district training convention of the party on Sunday, the JUI-F leader said that the lives of 220 million Pakistanis will not see joys until the rulers mend their ways. “Things will stay the same until you adopt an interest-free economy following the commandments of God and his messenger,” he said.
Taking a jibe at the prime minister, Fazalur Rehman said that those who have been dreaming of a Madina-like welfare state are not ready to forgo the interest-based system of the economy. “The double standards of the rulers have come up clear before the public.”
Economic crisis because of government ineptitude: Fazl
He said that people were disappointed with the performance of the government, while also taking a swipe at the economy that has come under extreme pressure.
“The genie of inflation has gone out of control while imprudent decisions of the rulers are making matters worse. The current rulers do not have any vision or strategy to come out of the economic crisis,” Rehman said.
Attempts being made to intimidate me in guise of accountability: Zardari
Rehman urged the government to improve its effectiveness and problem-solving, saying. “PTI-led government’s graph has slumped during the first six months. The country has been engulfed with many issues while a group of ministers is doing nothing but enjoying the perks and privileges of power.”
