Green Punjab: Officials urged to develop national parks
Minister says all possible resources should be utilised to complete projects

Punjab Forest Minister Muhammad Sibtain Khan directed officials to take measures to develop national parks, including Lal Suhanra, Kala Chita, Chinji and Murree, Kotli Sattian and Kahuta. He said the aim was to ensure that people had more of a choice when visiting recreational spots.
He was addressing a meeting held at the Forest Department on Friday. The chief officers of the Forest Department, Wildlife and Fisheries also attended the meeting. In the meeting, the minister was given a detailed briefing on the ongoing development work at the Forest Department.
The minister said all possible resources should be utilised to complete the projects. He pointed out that they were trying to identify more scenic places to promote tourism in the province. He added that the forests were important to the economy and environment of the country.

Khan maintained that the main points of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf manifesto are to work for the welfare and prosperity of the public. "The development and promotion of forests in the province are our first priority. The strategy is being made and the projects are being set up for the purpose," he said. Khan told the forest officers that they would have to work hard to make all the projects successful. "Our goal is to bring green revolution in the province."
