Khanpur DSP Javed Akhtar Jatoi told Express News that Zahir Pir Police Station SHO Saifullah Khan and his team conducted a successful raid at a hideout after reciving a tip off. Officials arrested three wanted bandits from Jorani gang. He added that the accused were identified as Ayub Jorani, Asif and Shahbaz.
He disclosed that a Kalashnikov, repeater gun, pistol, bullets and Rs0.2 million in cash were seized from the possession of the outlaws.
The DSP mentioned that culprit Ayub was wanted by police in 11 criminal cases, Asif in 12, and Shahbaz was wanted in seven cases of a heinous nature.
Javed Akhtar revealed that the suspects were hardened criminals and had evaded the police several times in the past. He pointed out that the accused had committed house robberies and were also involved in street crime.
The police official said that the arrest of the culprits will help in controlling criminal activities in the region, especially in Kacha area. He maintained that the police officials who took part in the raid will be awarded certificates and promotions.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case against the suspects and have opened investigations.
On January 29, police apprehended four notorious gangsters in Nankana Sahib.
According to details, the force received a tipoff that wanted gangsters, belonging to a notorious criminal gang, were present in the area and were planning to carry out a robbery.
The police team immediately conducted a raid and nabbed the suspects who were identified as Khalid alias commando, Babar, Riaz and Pervez. However, two accomplices of the accused escaped the scene taking advantage of darkness. Two pistols, ammunition and other valuables were seized from the possession of the outlaws. The police said the gang used to commit robberies and was involved in carrying out criminal activities in different areas.
The accused were wanted by police in several criminal cases in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Sialkot, Narowal, Bahawalnagar and other cities.
