Kidnapped neurosurgeon Dr Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil returned home after 48 days in captivity, chairman of the Doctors Action Committee (DAC) announced on Wednesday.
The neurosurgeon was abducted in Quetta and was recovered from Chaman.
Authorities still unable to recover abducted neurosurgeon
The neurosurgeon, who works at a private hospital in the provincial capital, was abducted by armed men from Shahbaz Town on December 13. His car was found near his residence with its windows shattered.
Chief Minister Jam Kamal and Home Minister Mir Saleem Khosa had also condemned the incident and assured the family of efforts for the safe recovery of the doctor.

An FIR had been lodged at Bijli Road police station by Ghulam Hussain, the missing doctor’s assistant. On December 16, the Balochistan government had constituted a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe into the kidnapping and ordered it to submit its findings within 15 days.
