Police arrest murder-cum-robbery suspect

Police have arrested a suspect, who allegedly shot and killed a man during a robbery, in Okara’s Depalpur City two months ago.

Saddar Depalpur Police Station SHO Malik Tariq Javed told Express News that they received a tip off that the person involved in a murder-cum-robbery case had been spotted in the area. He said that he, along with the police team, raided a hideout and managed to nab the culprit. He added that the accused was identified as Aslam Bhutta.

The SHO maintained that during interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect was a school teacher. He said that Aslam and his accomplices, identified as Saeed, Nisar, Amanat and Liaquat, had gunned down Rasheed and injured his brother during a robbery. He said the culprits snatched Rs0.12 million from the victims and managed to escape from the spot.


Malik Tariq highlighted that police also seized the murder weapon and cash from the possession of the outlaw.

The official said that police used scientific methods and mobile data to track down the suspect. He said that a case has been registered against the accused while police were conducting raids to arrest his accomplices.

Earlier, a suspect involved in a triple murder case was arrested by Bhakkar police.

According to details, Muhammad Adil, a resident of Razai Shah area, was the nephew of Aziza Mai.

On the day of the incident, Adil went to his aunt’s house with the intention to commit robbery. However, matters took a turn for the worst when the suspect grabbed Aziza Mai and strangled her to death with a cloth. Later, he also slit the throats of his cousins, identified as seven-year-old Rafiya, and five-year-old Abid.
