The LHCBA denounced it by adopting a resolution termed the attack on unarmed activists – a flagrant violation of international law.
The resolution stated that the attack on Turkish ship Mavi Marmara in international waters amounted to an attack on Turkish territory under international law. It added that Israel was guilty of piracy and murders of innocent activists onboard the ship.
The LHCBA called upon the UN Security Council to take effective steps against Israel such as declaring it a terrorist state. “Mere condemnation is not enough,” the resolution read. It said that the UN should send its peacekeeping force to the region to protect the Palestinians.
It also called upon the international community to boycott Israeli products.
The meeting was chaired by Mian Abdul Qudus, the LHCBA president. The speakers included Babar Murtaza Khan, the LHCBA secretary, Raja Muhammad Sajid Hanif, the finance secretary, Raja Zulqarnain, the Supreme Court Bar Association secretary and SM Masood among others.
The speakers urged the UN to take a strong stance against Israel and stop it from constructing new settlements in Gaza. They said that a peaceful solution was only possible if Israeli military’s aggression was checked.
