Three shot dead in separate incidents in Lahore

Unidentified man gunned down a 55-year-old driver of a factory bus in Kahna

LAHORE: A 17-year-old boy was stabbed to death by unidentified men in Nawan Kot on Thursday.

According to the police, some unidentified men were harassing his aunt for the last few days and he warned them not to bother her. On Thursday, the assailants stabbed him to death. Police registered a case against the suspects on the victim's father complaint.

In a separate incident, the body of a 27-year-old man, stuffed into a gunny bag, was found from Lower Mall, Lahore on Thursday. A passerby spotted the body and informed police. Shortly after getting information, police reached the spot and took the body into their custody. Police said the victim was tortured and stabbed to death. They added the identity of the man has yet to be ascertained. Police are looking into the case.

On the same day, a 55-year-old driver of a factory bus was shot dead by an unidentified assailant in Kahna. The victim identified as Munir Barkat, 55. He was a resident of Kasur and was going to drop the workers of Ayesha Textiles. As he stopped the vehicle for a few minutes, a motorcyclist ambushed him and opened fire.

The victim suffered four bullet injuries. He was shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

The incident created panic as it was a busy area and over 50 persons were travelling on the bus. Police also registered an FIR and were investigating the matter further.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old woman died in a road accident in Nasirabad. Police said that Hanfia Bibi died when a car hit her while crossing the road. She was a resident of Nishtar Colony and was returning home after visiting a hospital. The body was shifted to a nearby hospital.
