Punjab CM says purpose of reforming health sector is to provide standard, quality healthcare

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that providing citizens with standard and modern medical facilities is the government’s utmost priority. He expressed these views while speaking to various delegations on Sunday.

The chief minister maintained that a roadmap for the development of the health department has been designed in order to provide standard, quality and modern medical facilities to the public. The purpose of reforming the health sector is to provide standard, quality and modern medical facilities to the public, he said.

He stated that all the resources will be utilised in this regard and the latest reforms will be introduced to improve the traditional healthcare system. Long term effects will be attained through these reforms, he highlighted. Buzdar added that timely access to standard medical facilities is a patient’s basic right.

A shortage of resources will not be allowed to become a hurdle in improving the health sector. The best, most capable and professional workforce will be recruited for the health sector, he said. The chief minister added that result oriented measures are being taken to improve health facilities and that he is personally monitoring progress.

Efforts done with honesty and sincerity will surely bring results, he said. Buzdar added that serving ailing humans is a noble thing to do. The health sector is a sacred profession. People working in this field earn rewards for themselves in this world and in the hereafter. CM gave assurances that doctors, nurses and paramedical staff will be encouraged.
