Addressing grievances of the business community has been the top priority of the government and its focus is to strengthen interaction with the traders, said Prime Minister’s Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood. Speaking to a trade delegation, led by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), he said, “We want recommendations and suggestions to improve our ailing industry, especially the SMEs.” He said the government was working on a multilateral policy including reforms in taxation, regulatory duty and ease of doing business. He said they were working on framing a new industrial policy, which would bridge the fundamental gap between the government and private sector. Speaking on the occasion, RCCI President Malik Shahid Saleem said the government must act proactively and set a clean direction for the economy with short, medium and long-term goals.
