ISLAMABAD:
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has slashed the price of re-gasified liquefied natural gas (RLNG) by over 10% for January 2019.

The revised price is fixed at $11.038 per million British thermal units (mmbtu) for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) consumers and $11.3726 per mmbtu for Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) consumers.

In a similar move, the RLNG prices were also reduced for December 2018 and set at $12.2987 per mmbtu for SNGPL and at $12.7125 per mmbtu for SSGC.

For January, the price for SNGPL consumers has gone down by 10.25% and for SSGC consumers the rate has been reduced by 10.54% compared to December 2018.

The super-cooled gas prices move in line with crude oil prices and due to the fall in international oil prices, the local consumers of RLNG has expected a sizable reduction.

The RLNG prices also include the charges of LNG terminals, transmission losses, port charges and margins of importers like Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL).

The new weighted average RLNG sale prices for January 2019 have been calculated while taking into account the import of 10 cargoes during the month - six by PSO and four by PLL.
