Shehbaz advised complete bed rest on account of deteriorating health

PML-N president excuses from day's commitments upon doctor's advice

The Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has been advised to resort to complete bed rest after his health deteriorated, Express News reported on Thursday.

According to officials, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president has been suffering from severe backache following which he excused himself from the day's commitments upon doctor's advice.



As per his previous schedule, Shehbaz was going to attend the law enforcement committee meeting. On Wednesday, the PML-N leader underwent blood work and several tests including MRI.

A PIMS team comprising oncologists, cardiologists, pathologists, radiologists had been designated to examine Shehbaz during the course of his illness.



In November, Shehbaz's reports revealed symptoms of cancer. Initially, he had sought treatment for a sore throat. Further reports, however, showed traces of Chromogranin A, a marker of neuroendocrine tumours.

On October 5, the party president was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in connection Ashiyana Housing scam.
