LGs complete constitutional term

PESHAWAR:

Following the expiry of the constitutional term of local government representatives, the K-P government has transferred their powers to deputy commissioners and administrative officers.

A formal notification has been issued by the Local Government Department.

According to the notification, the powers of mayors and city council chairmen have been assigned to deputy commissioners, while the powers of tehsil chairmen have been transferred to assistant commissioners. The authority of village and neighborhood chairmen will now rest with assistant directors of the Local Government Department.
