Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry reiterated on Wednesday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government will not agree upon an NRO with the opposition.

When asked a question about the names of Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leaders added to the Exit Control List, the minister said the cabinet took the decision on the joint request of FIA, NAB, and the JIT.

Claiming that the incumbent government had nothing to do with the accountability process, he said that neither Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal was appointed by PTI, nor were the corruption cases registered during PTI’s leadership.

Fawad Chaudhry also expressed his dissension with the Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif being appointed as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee despite being accused in corruption cases.

He claimed that the opposition was trying to hamper the National Assembly from doing its business since day one.
