Doctors strike enters 14th day

Doctors say protest will continue until doctor's recovery

Mohammad Zafar December 29, 2018

QUETTA: Doctors in Quetta continued their strike for the 14th day on Friday to highlight the disappearance of Neurosurgeon Dr Khalil Ibrahim.

The protest is meant to highlight the lack of security measures for doctors in Quetta.

The medics said they will continue their protest until they are given space in Governor House and Chief Minister House to examine patients.

They don't feel safe anywhere else, doctors said. Dr Khalil went missing from Quetta on December 14.

The Doctors Joint Action Committee had announced that protests at public hospitals will continue until Dr Khalil is recovered and the government provides them safe space to examine patients.

The OPDs, general surgery and radiology departments are being boycotted during the strike.

Patients have been badly affected by the protest and many had to go home when they realised that doctors would not be coming to their aid.
