Man stabs wife, nephew in Bahawalpur
Police said Javed used to fight with Noreen and had arguments with her as he had suspicion over her character

BAHAWALPUR:
A man stabbed his wife and her nephew over domestic dispute in Bahawalpur on Wednesday.
Saddar Town Assistant Sub-Inspector Akhtar Ghallo told The Express Tribune that Noreen Bibi, a resident of Basti Bandra, married Muhammad Javed some 14 years ago. He added the couple had five children.
The police official maintained that for the past one year, Javed used to fight with Noreen over certain suspicions.
He mentioned that on the day of the incident, the couple had a heated debate. When matters arguments escalated, Javed allegedly took out a knife and stabbed Noreen Bibi with the intention to kill her. In the meantime, other family members and the woman’s nephew Muhammad Rehan reached the spot to save her, ASI Ghallo pointed out.
During the chaos, he said the culprit also stabbed Rehan and escaped from the scene. As a result, both the victims suffered stab wounds and were shifted to local hospital for treatment.
The Saddar police have registered a case No 329/18 against the accused on complaint of Noreen Bibi and started investigations. Further probe is under way.
Earlier, a woman was shot dead by her husband over a domestic dispute in Faisalabad.
The police said that Tayyab Hanif had a heated argument with his wife Haleema Altaf over some domestic issues. In a fit of rage, accused Tayyab took out a pistol and opened fire on her. As a result, she was killed on the spot.
