LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Saturday granted an interim pre-arrest bail to cricketer Imran Nazir for June 22 in a case allegeing an attempt to kidnap and directed him to submit surety bonds for Rs50,000 within two days.

The judge also issued notices police and the complainant to file their comments by June 22. Nazir on Saturday filed a petition for a pre-arrest bail in Shahida Saeed’s court.

He said that the complainant, Sohail Shakir, had filed a false case against him. He said the apparent motive was to defame him.  He also told the court that he was ready to appear before an investigation officer if required. He said that he had not previously known Shakir and had never met him.  He asked the court to grant him pre-arrest bail till the final decision of the case.

The judge summoned the police and granted an interim pre-arrest bail to Nazir.

According to the FIR registered by the Lytton Road police, three men had stopped Shakir’s car on Mozang Road on June 8 and pulled him out of it. He said the men fled when they saw some traffic wardens approaching.

A few minutes later, he said, he was stopped again by the same men, who again tried to abduct him. One of them, he said, was Nazir.

You are not even aware of the facts. an over in hong kong sixes has more than six balls, seriously did u even watch the match and thinking even for a second that this is in someway related to match fixing is laughable!
Mr. Saleem Siddiqi | 12 years ago | Reply The man is known from the Company of friends he keeps. As you sow so shall you reap. This is what he had done when Pakistan Team was wining Hongkong Sixes tournament last year. Pakistan batted first and made a sizable score. Shoib Malik was Captain. When Pakisan was bowling, Shoib Malik gave Imran Nazir to bowl the last over. Honkong needed 52 runs in the last over. Assuming that the opponent team will hit six sixes in the last over, it was Pakistan who will be victorious. But to all our surprise, Imran Nazir intentionally started giving no balls and wide balls so much so that Hongkong easily scored more than 52 runs in the last over. Atleast I cannot forget this tinted match and possibly involvement of both Imran Nazir and Shoib Malik with the Bookies which earned them a Heavy Purse. Resultant, both were banned quietly from Cricket. These people who are in argument with Imran Nazir must have some connection with the Bookies and must be arguing with him.
