Verdict: Two men convicted of possessing explosives
Six hand grenades, a pistol and bullets were seized from them

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) convicted two people for possessing explosives in Multan on Friday. The judgment was announced by ATC-1 Judge Malik Khalid Mehmood.
The prosecution told the court that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station, Multan, raided a hideout and arrested Waseemur Rahman and Samiullah Hafeez on August 20, 2018.
The police also seized explosive material, six hand grenades, pistol, receipt book of a banned organisation, cash and bullets from their possession. The police registered a case against the accused under the anti-terrorism act and presented a challan in the court.

During proceedings, the accused were found guilty and were sentenced to 10 and 12 years respectively. The court also imposed a fine of Rs0.1 million on the convicts. The judge also ordered that the property of the convicts be confiscated.
Earlier, an ATC sentenced two people to three years’ imprisonment for possessing explosives in Multan.
The CTD police raided a hideout and arrested Sanaullah and Umar Javed.

After hearing witnesses, the judge sentenced the convicts to three years of rigorous imprisonment. The judge also ordered that the property of the convicts be confiscated.
