Italian artist paints mural as a tribute to Karachiites

A public art mural painted by Italian artist, Giuseppe Percivati, was presented as a tribute to the people of Karachi at the International Art Festival on December 19. The 2,300 square feet mural depicts a tropical scene with a glorious blue sky, colourful flowers, drooping branches and an eye-catching bird.
The mural, on GSA House, cannot escape the notice of those crossing through Keamari. Percivati said that it took him two days to sketch the mural and another seven to paint it.

I Am Karachi Executive Director Ambareen Kazim Thompson expressed the hope that the art piece will play a role in highlighting the positive side of Karachi, not only in Pakistan but also around the world.
The project was made possible through the collaborations of the Italian Consul-General, Karachi Port Trust, I Am Karachi, GSA House and Berger Paints. The mural’s inauguration was attended by the Italian Consul-General, I Am Karachi President Amin Hashwani, Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Ali Shallwani and others. OUR CORRESPONDENT
