Man commits suicide after axing wife to death

Deceased’s brother told police that the accused had killed his sister in connivance with his mother and second wife

In a gruesome incident, a man allegedly axed to death his wife and then took his own life over a domestic dispute in Sargodha, Express News reported on Wednesday.

Police said that Akhtar Hussain, a resident of Qasba Pathan Kot, had married Nadia a few years ago. He used to work as a conductor at a transport company. The couple had three children together but used to argue with each other often. In order to teach his wife a lesson, he married another woman.

After Akhtar’s second marriage, tensions escalated between him and Nadia. On the day of the incident, the couple had an argument. In a fit of rage, Akhtar axed Nadia to death. After committing the murder, Akhtar took his own life by consuming poison.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s brother, Sajjad Hussain, told police that the accused had killed his sister in connivance with his mother and second wife.

Sahiwal police have registered a case and have shifted the bodies to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital for legal formalities. Further investigations are under way.

Earlier, a man killed his wife and twin step daughters in Sargodha.

According to details, Mehreen Bibi had married Shaukat, a resident of Liaqat Colony. Mehreen also had two twin daughters from a previous marriage who were living with the couple.

The daughters were a source of conflict between the couple. Shaukat used an axe to murder his wife and his step daughters. After murdering them, he locked the door of the house from the outside and fled the scene.
