ISLAMABAD:
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has appreciated the decision of French auto giant Renault to manufacture its vehicles in Pakistan.

In a meeting with Marc Barety, the ambassador of France in Islamabad, at the Foreign Office on Tuesday, Qureshi also said that Pakistan is looking forward to a visit of President Macron at an early date on the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The two sides agreed that exchange of high-level visits was important for further strengthening bilateral relations, according to a statement issued by the Foreign Office. Both sides appreciated the current trajectory of bilateral relations and agreed to further enhance relations in all areas of mutual interest.

The foreign minister expressed satisfaction at the two-way flow of investment and hoped that more French businesses would take cue from Renault and benefit from Pakistan’s investor-friendly policies in various sectors. The ambassador conveyed that there were several French companies interested in doing business in Pakistan. He also assured of France’s full support in enhancing cooperation in all fields of mutual interest.
