KARACHI: The Sindh government has placed a ban on the entry of Manzoor Pashteen, Chief of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement, into any district of the province for 90 days. A notification issued by Home Department under Sindh Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance 1960 said, "The ban has been imposed on the recommendation of police in the best interest of general public as well as peaceful environment."

The notification said the inspector-general (IG) of police had reported that Pashteen had been staying in Karachi for the last 4-5 days in the vicinity of Ali Town falling in jurisdiction of Sachal Police Station in Malir district.

The IG added, "He frequently holds public gatherings within the area of Gulshan-e-Maymar, Sachal, Site Super Highway and provokes public through inflammable and hate speeches against state and law enforcement agencies. This poses great threat to the peace within the area of district Malir."

Hence, Pashteen is banned from entering into any district of Sindh for a period of 90 days, the notification said.
