KARACHI: The Sindh Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani said that some political parties were playing politics on the anti-encroachment operation carried out on orders of Supreme Court (SC) which is a shameful act. The Sindh government has already filed a petition in the apex court. Those who want to protest on this issue can protest outside Supreme Court, because this operation is not being carried out on mayor or Singh government’s orders.

Talking to the media after a debate competition held at North Karachi campus of Educational Trust’s Nasra School, Ghani said, “I have started working for the settlement of affected people from the very first day on the instructions of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chief Minister.” He added that all the legal requirements were being fulfilled in this regard, and all the affected people will be provided with business facilities soon. He said that the political parties creating hurdles were part of the conspiracy against the affected and were doing this for their own point scoring.

Answering a question, Ghani said that since the actions were being carried out on the SC’s orders, it was their responsibility to act accordingly. “We will not leave the affected alone at any cost.”

Ghani also clarified that this operation had nothing to do with the World Bank and these are mere speculations.
