FIA nabs 12 human smugglers in Faisalabad
Suspects allegedly deprived people of money on pretext of sending them abroad

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) claimed to have arrested 12 human traffickers, including three proclaimed offenders, from various parts of Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions.
Additional Director FIA Sajid Akram Chaudhry said the arrested human smugglers were involved in depriving people of heavy amounts on the pretext of sending them abroad.
The accused were identified as Waqar Ahmed, Ishtiaq Ahmed, Muhammad Rashid, Muhammad Munaaf, Salah Muhammad, Fahad Javed, Muhammad Asif, Amjad Ali, Muhammad Kashmiri, proclaimed offenders Qadir Bakhsh, Muhammad Waseem and Waseem Ashraf. Cases have been registered against them.
Meanwhile, the police claimed to have arrested 1,642 criminals, including proclaimed offenders, drug traffickers, illicit weapons holders and gamblers, during the month of November.
A police official said the police arrested 65 accused involved in various cases, 61 court absconders and 640 proclaimed offenders. Similarly, he added the police apprehended 435 drug pushers and seized 101.136 kg hashish and 58,656 litres of liquor from their possession.
He mentioned that the police teams also rounded up 105 gamblers during different raids and confiscated Rs23,650, mobile phones and other items from them. He said 336 illicit weapons holders were arrested while 256 pistols, 46 guns, 17 rifles, three Kalashnikovs and a large number of rounds were confiscated.
The Faisalabad police claimed to have seized stolen animals loaded on a truck and arrested three accused. The cops spotted the suspected truck on Jhang Road and signaled it to stop, but the driver continued to accelerate. The police chased the truck and took three persons – Umar, Tanveer and Mukhtar – into custody.
During interrogation, the truck driver revealed that animals loaded on the truck were stolen from various areas and they were transporting them to the cattle market for sale.
