QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Secretary General Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has said that his party will block any amendment to the blasphemy law.

Speaking to reporters in Kalat on Monday, he said such an amendment would be unacceptable to his party.

“There are efforts to make the country a secular state and we will not let that happen,” said Haideri.

Criticising the government, the JUI-F leader said, “Those who raised slogans of change have left the people with immense difficulties.”

He said no government was visible in Balochistan and other parts of the country. He also said the Constitution of 1973 was the base of the country.
