Crackdown: Three suspects injured in ‘encounter’

The incident of robbery and the encounter both took place in the limits of City police station

HYDERABAD: Three suspects allegedly involved in November 20 house robbery in Hyderabad were arrested in injured condition after an apparently stagy encounter on Sunday night.

The police claimed that the exchange of fire between the suspects, Shahzeb Shaikh, Waseem Qureshi and Noman Abdul Salam, and the police occurred in the commercial area, Tilak Incline.

The incident of robbery and the encounter both took place in the limits of City police station. The suspects, who all sustained gunshots to their legs, were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital. The families of the suspects claim that they were arrested prior to the encounter.

The police claim to have recovered prize bonds worth Rs420,000 and Rs15,000 cash, which were looted during the robbery, besides a motorbike and three pistols from their possession.
