Lahore's master plan: All stakeholders urged to provide input

A new master plan will provide road map for development of the city over next 20 years

A new master plan for Lahore will provide a road map for development of the city over the next 20 years.

All stakeholders and experts on civic issues should come forward with their valuable input to prepare a comprehensive framework which could cater to the future requirements of the city, said LDA Director General Amna Imran Khan.

She was addressing a pre-consultation meeting on the master plan of Lahore Division-2040 on Tuesday.

She said that 50 teams of LDA, comprising 150 officers, were carrying out a survey of the impact of commercialisation on the infrastructure of the city. She added that digital data for each property was being collected and special software had been prepared for this purpose.

She said that Lahore was a megacity and complete coordination among policymakers, service providing agencies and other relevant government departments was a pre-condition for its integrated development.
