BAHAWALPUR: Islamia University of Bahawalpur vice chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar said on Wednesday that universities needed to collaborate with schools and colleges located in close by areas so that teaching quality could be improved in these institutions. He was speaking at the closing ceremony of a month long training workshop for English language teachers at schools and colleges organised by IUB’s English Department in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission.

He said the workshop provided the teachers with an opportunity to learn latest teaching methods and improve their teaching and research capabilities.  He hoped the workshop would help create a link between the university and the participating schools and colleges. HEC English Language Teaching Reform Phase-II’s director Syed Musa Hassan also spoke at the occasion.
