Buzdar pledges more funds for South Punjab
CM says government is aware of problems faced by people of this region

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Sunday the government was completely aware of the problems faced by the people of South Punjab and that was why the major chunk of the resources has been diverted towards the development of the region.
He expressed these views while speaking at a cheque distribution ceremony. Buzdar distributed cheques of Rs12.8 million among the victims and bereaved families of Ghazi Ghat accident. Assistance cheques of Rs500,000 each were given to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the accident while the injured received cheques of Rs75,000 each. As many 21 people had died including 12 members of one family and 31 suffered injuries as a result of the collision between the two buses near Ghazi Ghat at Sarwar Wali in Dera Ghazi Khan district about a month ago. The chief minister said he was deeply saddened over this tragic incident and Punjab government was standing in solidarity with the aggrieved in this hour of anguish. Financial assistance was surely not the compensation for this huge loss as this pain could be felt only by those who have lost their loved ones, he added
On his visit to Multan, he was accompanied by MNA Zain Qureshi and other officials of the district government. Qureshi, the son of Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, apprised the chief minister of the problems of NA-156, and NA-157 constituencies. The CM said mega development projects would be announced soon for Multan. Buzdar said all his fellow lawmakers in provincial assembly were not less than any chief minister for him. “I will continue to meet them all and solve problems of their areas,” he added.
“The government is completely aware of the problems faced by the people of this region and that is why the major chunk of the resources has been diverted toward the development of South Punjab,” Buzdar said. “The issues of Multan will be resolved on the priority basis,” he added.
Talking to the chief minister, members of national and provincial assemblies said that the development package for DG Khan, Tunsa and Barthi was historic. They added that South Punjab would become a developed area of Punjab. In contrary to past, practical steps were being taken to resolve problems of people.
On this occasion, the residents of NA-156 constituency in an application demanded of Chief Minister Punjab Usman Budar to the provision of Rs300 million for tough tiles in 30 union councils of the constituency. The applicant further demanded Rs100 million for sewerage lines. Moreover, 300 water filtration plants for the constituency were also demanded.
The chief minister said after the complete analysis of the Multan city, development projects would be inaugurated soon.
