Number of beds doubled in LGH gynecology ward

Principal appeals doctors to come forward and serve humanity with zeal

LAHORE: The administration of Lahore General Hospital (LGH) has increased the number of beds for the gynecology patients to double and now there would be 230 beds available for them. Moreover, beds for the surgical department have also been added and now 170 beds would be available as compared to 120 earlier.

Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Dr Mohammad Tayyab said as per the vision of the government, all possible help was being provided to the patients in Lahore General Hospital. He said the circumstances were reviewed and the decision was taken to increase the number of beds.

The principal also appealed the doctors to come forward and serve humanity with the same spirit. He said apart from common diseases special facilities were available at LGH for neuro patients while nurses and paramedical staff also add their special contribution towards every person coming in hospital. He added that the administration has also improved its behaviour and performance has been enhanced in the recent months.

Briefing the audience in this regard, Lahore General Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Mahmud Salahuddin said special steps have been taken in each department of the hospital. “Every day hundreds of patients are entertained in emergency and outdoor departments while free medicines and test facilities are also available for them. Similarly, evening Outdoor Department is also working in LGH,” he said.

Dr Mahmud Salahuddin said the standard of services would be maintained and the quality of treatment would further be improved.
