PESHAWAR: A senior Pakistani police officer, who was abducted from Islamabad to Afghanistan where he was brutally tortured and put to death, was convinced that hostile agencies are stoking terrorism in Pakistan, especially in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

An undated video clip, shot on mobile phone camera, shows Shaheed Superintendent Police Tahir Khan Dawar negotiating with a group of students protesting against the killing of their colleague outside the Peshawar Press Club.

He could be heard telling the students that Pakistan was passing through a precarious situation.

SP Dawar: The cop who stared terror in the face

He says that several hostile agencies – including those of Afghanistan, India and the United States – were working to create unrest in Pakistan, especially in Peshawar. He says that the police force is working under extremely difficult circumstances.

SP Dawar could be seen negotiating with the protesting students in a very polite and convincing manner. He tells them that he would risk his own life to provide security to students.
