LAHORE:
Police on Wednesday found the bodies of a woman and her two daughters from Chan Shah Graveyard located in Shad Bagh area of the provincial capital.

Police said they came to know about the incident when some locals, after spotting the bodies and another critically injured girl, identified as Rabia, called on emergency helpline (15).

Eyewitnesses told the police that Rabia, who was a minor, came to a street in blood-stained clothes which terrified nearby residents and traders, commuters and all others.

After regaining consciousness, Rabia recorded her statement before the investigators. She said her father Malik Asghar Ali was shot dead in his second wife’s house in Sheikhupura a few days ago.

“Our brother Sajawal brought us to our father’s grave and opened fire upon us killing my mother and two sisters on the spot. Sajawal and the security guard who was with us fled the scene after dumping the bodies in the graveyard while I, in an injured condition, managed to run away,” Rabia told the investigators. The two deceased girls were between the ages of 13 and 15 years.

The police officials said Malik Asghar, who had married six times, was killed 15 days ago in Sheikhupura and two of his former wives had confessed to his murder. According to initial findings, the investigators said the mother and her daughters were more likely to be killed over a family dispute. However, raids were being conducted to arrest the killer.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and directed the senior superintendent of Lahore police to submit a detailed report in this regard.
