Says govt's agenda is to steer country out of current crisis

PESHAWAR/ ISLAMABAD/ LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said the government’s agenda is to steer the country out of the current crisis and make it stand on its feet.

“Conspiracies can do us no harm nor do we care about them,” said the prime minister during a meeting with Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan at Bani Gala on Sunday.

The law and order situation in K-P, progress in conducting by-polls in the new tribal system, 100-day plan and various other issues came under discussion.

PM Imran said, “Through our national public agenda [development and progress], these made-up political forces will soon lose steam. These forces have already lost their mantle in public.”

The K-P chief minister said, “The government, according to the vision and thinking of Imran Khan, is ruling in a transparent manner and is taking steps in the right direction for the welfare of the poor people.

“Our 100-day plan will be a reflection of better governance and welfare of the poor.”

Appreciating the measures adopted by the provincial government, Imran said, “We have to work for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden segment. We have broken the status quo, which is why the status quo forces are seen trying to create hurdles in our agenda.”

He said, “We do not care for such powerless and unrestricted status quo. Our agenda is development and prosperity and make the country stand on its feet.”

Meanwhile, Imran has made it clear to Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar to continue supporting Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.



“Internal rifts can damage the federal as well as the provincial government, which is why it is better to be rational instead of making emotional decisions,” he said, adding that opposition could take advantage of the differences.

“All members should forget their differences and move forward,” instructed Imran, directing the Punjab governor to speed up contacts with political allies and assembly members for the Senate elections.

On the instructions of the prime minister, an important session has been called on November 14.

The prime minister also expressed deep grief over the sad demise of the mother of National Assembly Deputy Speaker Muhammad Qasim Suri.
