The HEC Programme In-charge Dilawar Khan on Thursday told APP, “Last date for form submission is November 21 and any candidate who is already availing the scholarship from HEC would not be eligible to apply”.
He said the scholarships are fully funded by the HEC. Students’ admission in national and higher learning institutions, their tuition fees and living expenses would be bear by the commission, he added.
The official also said scholarships would be awarded purely on merit and for this purpose HEC would conduct a screening test.
The programme would give an opportunity to the law community to have access to higher education, he said adding it would enhance the ratio of Balochistan’s students in higher education.
Dilawar said that scholarship would only be awarded to the students studying in HEC recognised public sector universities.
The official said that the students, who had passed their intermediate examination from Balochistan would be preferred.
Moreover, he added 15-20 per cent scholarships would be reserved for the children of victims’ family died or severely injured in August 2016 bomb blast at Quetta, if they meet the criteria.
