Afghanistan is an untapped market for Pakistani entrepreneurs, who should take full benefit of emerging business opportunities in Afghanistan, said Afghanistan Industries, Mines and Investment High Council CEO Mohammad Shabir Bashiry.

He was leading a delegation in a meeting with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) to discuss possibilities of establishing joint ventures in the mining sector of Afghanistan. Bashiry said the private sector of Afghanistan was interested in engaging Pakistani counterparts in mining sector that has great potential for growth.
Also speaking on the occasion, Embassy of Afghanistan Commercial Attaché Samina Wadeer said by investing in Afghanistan, Pakistani private sector could get easy access to Central Asian markets.

She said Afghanistan was an open market and investors of many countries were taking keen interest in the Afghan market. However, Afghanistan wanted to prioritise Pakistani investors for joint ventures and investment in mining and other sectors, she added.
