Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage

How would you describe your body type?

I remember my friends and I would have long discussions and we’d also take online tests to know what category our body type falls into. Now that I finally know, it is a top hourglass body and if you’re 5’3” or under, join the petite club!

Has your body type changed over the last five years?

I was extremely skinny, until I discovered my love for dairy! Over the years I realised how important it is to keep your body toned by hitting the gym with a balanced diet.

How has your style changed over the years?

I mean it just had to change from being all over the place to more minimal with time. The farther your style progresses, the simpler the stuff you wear, with a little bit of mix and match, and never-a-hair-out-of-place.

In your opinion, what is your most troublesome area?

Currently, my lower belly has been a little challenging, but high waisted jeans save the day for me.

How do you dress your body according to your body type?

I honestly follow trends with a passion and I mix and match to implement my own style. For me this season was all about colour-block ensembles, asymmetric-shoulder dresses, long puffy-sleeves (it makes my arms appear longer), voluminous silhouettes to balance out wider waist and hips, blazers and any basic tee with different styles of denim, pants, and mainly mom jeans.

In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing?

Knowing your body type is very essential because wearing something too tight is always a no-no! Going with something that isn’t too fussy would be the right choice!

Which silhouettes suit your body the most?

For my body I prefer going for structured and modern silhouettes. H-line and 10-line with V-shapes would definitely be my favourite pick.

What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why?

I feel like with time I realised how content I am with my body which pushes the shyness away and brings in all the risk-taking business!
