LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan has issued directives to all ministers of Punjab to leave no stone unturned in providing relief to the masses, saying he himself will review their performance.

“For the helpless and the destitute, five shelter homes will be established around bus stands and railway stations on state land in Lahore,” announced the prime minister while reviewing the government’s 100-day plan at the Punjab Chief Minister Secretariat on Tuesday.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, provincial ministers and others were in attendance.

During the meeting, PM Imran issued orders to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to establish the shelter homes.

“Passengers and poor people will get relief with the provision of roof over their heads and two meals a day,” he said.

He directed members of the provincial assembly to further strengthen their relationship with the masses, saying the government “is going to introduce reforms in various social sectors”.

The Punjab CM briefed the PM on steps taken by the provincial government for the implementation of the 100-day plan and preparations for Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme in various cities of Punjab.

After the meeting, Punjab Minister for Housing Mian Mahmoodur Rasheed told the media that the PM had reviewed the progress on the 100-day plan and directed all provincial government representatives to implement the programme in letter and spirit.

He highlighted that the PM had indicated that he would himself review the performance of all MPAs after 60 days and send those failing to perform in line with the government vision packing.

Rasheed said that various political and economic matters, including the prime minister’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia and upcoming visit to China, also came under discussion during the meeting.

He said the government was very hopeful that it would obtain handsome investment from China during the PM’s visit scheduled for November 2.
