Raisani, Mengal, Reiki take oath as MPAs

Kamal said the government has completed 70 per cent work on the developmental schemes

QUETTA: Three newly-elected members of the provincial assembly including Nawab Aslam Raisani, Akbar Mengal and Zahid Reiki on Monday took oath as members of Balochistan Assembly. Deputy Speaker administered the oath during the assembly session.

Addressing the session, Chief Minister Jam Kamal said that Balochistan government was facing financial hitches and to overcome financial debt the government would slash unnecessary expenses.

He said the provincial government was making efforts to complete the developmental schemes which are in public interest. Kamal said the government has completed 70 per cent work on the developmental schemes initiated by the former government.

There are some projects on which work has been in process since 20 years, he added.

The chief minister said the provincial government was commencing development projects according to the available resources.

During the session, members of the opposition and the treasury benches Sana Baloch, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khaitran and others expressed concerns over illicit appointments made in the last tenure in the forest department and demanded investigation in the matter.
