Saudi consulate vehicle sans number plate fined by sub-inspector
Recently, a traffic police official fined a Saudi consulate vehicle in Karachi’s red zone after it was found driving without a registration number plate.
According to the sub-inspector, the Saudi consulate vehicle was stopped and questioned about the non-existent number plate. The driver produced number plates from inside the vehicle, saying that the only reason of the car lacking them was security risks.
As the two got engaged in a conversation, a man on the passenger seat asked the official to talk to an influential person over the phone, apparently in an attempt to pressurise him to let the vehicle leave.
However, the sub-inspector fined the vehicle with Rs520 for violating the traffic law, and only allowed it to leave once the penalty was paid.
